Wallace, Gromit and a new use for lentils: Aardman event aims to exceed– and recruit youngsters

An illuminating show at the Young V&A in London showcases the work of the globe’s leading stop-motion studio

What would certainly Wallace– every person’s favourite amateur Yorkshire inventor– resemble with a moustache, straw sailor and postal employee’s layer? Would a significant collection of teeth fit his faithful beagle, Gromit? How around a nose shaped like a banana

Such questions are answered by a often disconcerting and lighting exhibit at east London’s Young V&A that showcases the job of the globe’s leading stop-motion outfit, the Bristol-based Aardman studios. Early illustrations for Nick Park’s much-loved characters reveal that Wallace was when simply a couple of bristles except Hitler, while Gromit had fangs and the capability to talk.
