‘The water left absolutely nothing’: Pakistan’s Punjab province reels from deadly floods

Fears of condition as greater than 1,400 towns under water after three big rivers overflow their financial institutions

Iman Salim is used to seeing flooding waters in the area of lush lilypads next to her home in the village of Kamanwala. However nothing prepared her for this week, when torrential downpour rains that broke a 49-year record lashed the area, flooding her house with water that rose above her chest.

” The entire residence has sunk. The water left nothing,” the 24-year-old claimed.
