Adolescence leaves its mark on everyone but for my boy the marks have been especially obvious. I’ve lost track of how many casts he’s had. He likes electrical bikes and at numerous times this has resulted in a busted arm, a broken hand, a broken leg, a variety of cuts and forages, and terrifyingly close phone calls with much worse.It likewise led to him obtaining a job as a delivery cyclist for the neighborhood Domino’s Pizza, which valued him for his rate (an additional broken wrist) and his capacity to be happy despite unhinged consumers. When, after getting no response when he buzzed a flat and phoned, he left a woman’s pizza on her front door. She called him “the residue of the planet” and promised he would lose his work and never ever obtain one more one.
