Carys Garland is pleased to welcome Ray Takeyh, Senior Fellow for Middle East Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). As battle rages in Iran, Mr. Takeyh cautions that America’s “war of selection” is guided by an improvisated armed forces approach that turns wildly between grand passions of regimen adjustment and even more directly mounted objectives, including disabling Iran’s rocket program, neutralising its proxy networks, and permanently ending its nuclear goals. All are flexible commitments and do not have a plainly articulated leave approach.
