It’s been a week that’s seen a new Ayatollah proclaimed in Iran. Mojtaba Khamenei, boy of the executed supreme leader Ali Khamenei, has not been seen in public and is believed to be in hiding after supposedly being hurt in the same strike that killed his father. State tv showed crowds shouting “Long Live Khamenei”, while during the night in Tehran some citizens risked apprehension to yell from their windows: “Death to Mojtaba”. A declaration attributed to the brand-new leader pledged proceeded strikes on United States and Israeli passions, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and what it called “perpetual revenge”.
