The Cannes film festival announced on Monday that American actor Halle Berry, “Succession” star Jeremy Strong and Franco-Moroccan writer Leila Slimani are set to join a women-majority judging panel this year, which will be presided over by French actress Juliette Binoche. Seven of the films in the main competition have also been made by women directors, a joint highest total.
