European Union lawmakers and member states reached an offer Wednesday to ban all imports of Russian gas prior to the end of 2027, as the bloc looks for to choke off crucial funds feeding Moscow’s war chest. Targeted at damaging a reliance the bloc has had a hard time to finish despite the invasion of Ukraine, the accord marks a concession between EU resources and the European Parliament, which desired the ban to hit quicker.
