A recent survey by Samsung has uncovered a powerful trend: Southeast Asia’s youth are power users of AI, Samsung survey finds. Young people across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand are weaving AI into the fabric of their daily lives like never before.
According to the survey, nearly 90% of youths in these countries interact with AI tools every day. They mainly rely on AI for learning (78%), creativity (56%), and staying informed (38%), showing how deeply AI is supporting their education, innovation, and personal growth. The findings highlight that youth view AI not just as a tool for convenience, but as a vital means for career advancement and social impact.
The study, which surveyed 884 youths aged 13 to 24, reveals that mobile devices, particularly smartphones, are the primary gateway to AI for most, with 60% of participants accessing AI tools through their phones.
Samsung Pushes Ahead with Galaxy AI
In response to the growing role of AI, Samsung is leading the charge with Galaxy AI. Their devices now offer personalized AI experiences built with a focus on user privacy. New features like Google’s Circle to Search and the Math Solver in Samsung Notes are designed to boost both learning efficiency and productivity for young users.
When it comes to what inspires Southeast Asia’s youth to embrace AI, social media (77%) leads the way, followed closely by technology companies and services (73%), and then by friends and siblings (57%).
Speaking on Samsung’s role in empowering young people, CU Kim, President and CEO of Samsung Southeast Asia and Oceania, reaffirmed the company’s commitment:
“We want to help the next generation reach their full potential through innovative technology,” he said.
