When Georgy Kochkin signed up with a Russian army system called Africa Corps, he was expecting to be deployed to Africa, helping run details safety procedures. Rather, he was ordered to release to Ukraine. So he went AWOL and jumped an aircraft to Manila, where he informed RFE/RL about his tale.
