A long-lost Rubens paint illustrating Crucifixion costs $2.7 million

A long-lost paint by baroque master Peter Paul Rubens, hidden for over 400 years and lately discovered in a Paris townhouse, cost 2.3 million euros ($ 2.7 million) at a Versailles public auction. Showing the crucifixion of Christ, it had long been misinterpreted for a work from a Rubens workshop and was previously valued at no more than 10,000 euros.
